Tony Tercero won the George Alexeeff Memorial Award!

Congratulations Tony on this prestigious award!

This award is in memory of Dr. George Alexeeff who was a grad of UCD and Adjunct Professor in the ETOX Department. He was appointed by Governor Brown as the Director of the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment in the California Environmental Protection Agency where he served from 2012 – 2015.

Dr. Alexeeff was committed to a career that translated the newest and best scientific information into how toxicant risks are evaluated and managed by government. Tony’s research seeks to expand our consideration of toxic risk from impacts that affect exposed individuals to those that affect their offspring and grand-offspring. More research into trans-generational impacts of toxicant exposures should affect how we consider, calculate, and manage risks to society. So I think Tony’s receipt of this award really honors the work and values of Dr. Alexeeff.
